1. Trim excess fat from steaks, marinate for 1 hour in a plastic resealable bag.
2. While steaks are marinating, wash and slice all vegetables, cut your buns in half and spread either garlic butter or mayonnaise on the inside of the buns. Reserve these for later.
3. Insert a perfect fit plancha insert, and preheat the grill or turn on your IR burner. Remove steaks from marinade, pat dry and season with salt and fresh cracked pepper. Using our perfect steak grilling guide, grill your steak to rare(~4 min total cook time) remove and allow them to cool.
4. Take a high smoke point oil and spray it on the plancha, allow it to heat up then add your sliced vegetables. Once vegetables begin to soften, season with Broil King Perfect Steak seasoning and kosher salt.
5. Slice steak on a shallow bias against the grain, then add the sliced steak to the vegetable medley on the plancha.
6. Continue to cook until your meat and vegetables caramelize together, checking seasoning and doneness of both the vegetables and the steak.
7. Remove meat and vegetables, scrape the plancha clean, and add your buns, butter side down and do not move them for 1 minute. Check doneness, and either remove or continue to crisp up. Move buns to the warming rack and add provolone cheese to both the top and bottom. 1 piece of provolone cut in half per side of the bun.
8. Assemble sandwich by taking toasted hoagie bun with melted cheese on it and filling the bun with the steak, pepper, and mushroom mixture.
9. Close the sandwich, cut in half and enjoy with your choice of side.
