Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong pieces Very hard to assemble. The handle is not the right size for the holes in the top and there were missing pieces. On top of this, the instructions were unclear. I doubt we will use it a lot. It does not deserve to go camping with us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For RV'ing. Purchased a second Porta-Chef after original stopped working after nine years. We use it when we are RV'ing as it fits nicely in an original Coleman Roadtrip carrying case which goes in our trailer storage compartment. I wanted a unit that stood on its own without using a table so I can place it where best suited at RV site. It works great as we Bbq almost nightly when on trips.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thermostat design problem Good quality product that looks good and works well apart from the thermostat design. The thermostat fitting is used to hold the front badge in place. The badge was loose when unpacked so I tightened the internal nut finger tight. Unfortunately this action damaged the flimsy tin thermostat beyond repair. I have fixed the badge in place without the thermostat but it looks ugly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not get enough hea to cook I have two other Broil King grills that I love but this portable grill just doesn’t work. Not enough heat to cook on beach while other portable gas grills work fine. Called customer service when I first encountered the problem and they didn’t help. Just doesn’t work so it sits in the garage. Also the spring fitting to hold the legs to the main unit are not well designed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't sell replacement grills!!! worked great, but the fact that they have replacement grills for warranty, but they refuse to sell you a grill once your warranty is out has to be the worst customer service I have ever heard of. I have years of warranty left on the box, but no grill to use it. Not worth buying if you plan on having it long term, 10 year warranty on certain parts is useless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk put it together, tried it out, went to put the legs underneath and the tabs holding them broke, also when you tip it up to get underneath the lid comes open and everything falls out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good Its a very good grill. The main advantage is that it is easy to transport. in the design I would change the lower surface where the grease is deposited, so that it is tilted to the left with a screw to freely discharge in a container or that is in there.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke the lid before using it Put it together after taking it out of the box, years after buying it because it was not needed yet. Then when trying to follow the instructions to take the legs off the lid came out of the slots on one side and it snap the tab off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low Heat, Poor Durability Bought this unit last summer and it would not heat up warm enough to sear anything. Bought a new regulator which helped a bit but leaving it on high for more than 20 minutes warped the frame.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Grill but fix my ignitor! I had porta-chef that worked well for 7 years but I failed to maintain it. It was left outside uncovered until it finally died out on me (melted plastic frame that made it unsafe to use). I chose another Porta-chef because of the great experience I had with the previous version. The 120 is the upgraded version of the model I had; one burner, detachable legs, portability, and handsome big grill looks without the high price-point. I've used it daily since I received it. It does take a while to get to temperature; about 15 minutes to get to 550-600 degrees. I assume this process will improve over time when the grill becomes "seasoned." Also, the ignitor doesn't work which is quite frustrating since this is a new grill and I expect it to be in full working order. I've tried replacing the battery to no avail. Overall, its a great grill, build quality seems better than the last one I had. It took all of 30 minutes to assemble it with one screwdriver and had a NY strip on it within an hour of unboxing. The cast iron grill top is a nice touch for that perfect sear...but please send me a new ignitor!!
