Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for the most part... Really solid pellet grill, very user friendly and has produced some good meals so far! Only two flaws keep it from full marks: - the Broil King app is garbage, it asks me to turn the grill on when it is already on, can't adjust heat on it, doesn't detect probes, etc. - as one other review said, the heat doesn't seem very accurate, I set for ribs at 225, the temp got there and I put them on, few hours later they weren't even remotely cooked at all, which makes me wonder how accurate it is and if I don't have a defective grill. The pieces are all there for this grill to be a success, it just feels like it has some growing pains to work out first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s a Tank! I acquired my Regal400 just over a week now and already have gone through 100lbs of pellets. As someone who’s been cooking with a pellet grill for the past 4+ years, size for size, pound for pound I can honestly tell you this grill does not even compare to the other common popular brands. I have been looking at getting one as far back as 2018 when I first saw a pre production model then used one at a BBQ competition in 2019. Ive done low and slow and hot and fast cooks and oh my, does it get hot! Definitely put this model or the 500 on your very short list!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great after working out some initial bugs I bought this grill fully assembled and delivered by Saines Ace Hardware of Lincolnton NC. The controller allowed some wide temperature fluctuations on my first cook. I contacted BroilKing and they sent a replacement controller. An easy swap out and it works perfectly. I found problems with the app on my Android phone, but I pulled out an old Apple Ipad and it works flawlessly. This is the first smoker I have ever owned, and I hoped I was starting out with the best. The Broil King pellets burn much more efficiently then the other brands. I hope they come out with more options like apple and pecan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete Junk I bought this grill because of a review I read. I have had nothing but trouble with it. The tech support has been good about sending replacement parts but I have worked on it more than I have cooked on it. Too day after replacing all the electronics the auger hung up while it was running and I had to remove all the pellets and unplug the auger again. I run it empty when I shut it off to prevent this but now it is hanging up while running. The hot rod went out after using the grill 4 times. They sent a new rod but it didn't fix the problem and they had to send an entire new control panel. It you want to work on stuff then buy this. If you want to smoke meat then buy something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing! On the expensive side but completely worth every penny. Easy to assemble and even simpler to use. Built like a tank, it feels like it'll last 10 years or more. You set the temparature like an oven so you get perfect results every time. My favorite feature so far is the fact that you can monitor the internal temp from a distance. If you work from home, you can start a slow smoked cook at your lunch break and set alarms based on internal temp. You can go work and it'll let you know when you need to do something. I've had amazing results for both slow smoking and hoter quick cooks like burgers and steaks. I have yet to try the rotissery though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not up to Broil King Standards I’ll start by saying that any I have made on my new pellet grill has turned out to be amazing. But after attempting a brisket and not being able to enjoy it until the next day I soon found out that the temp readings on the grill and probes were way off. There is a calibration function on the app that doesn’t work. Apparently Broil King knows about this issue but hasn’t fixed it yet. Another issue is the the lid does not seal very well. I had high expectations for this pellet grill after owning other BK grills that lasted many years trouble free. If your going to have something built in China. The quality is going to suffer and the price should reflect that. I’m wishing I had of done more research before I spent $1600 on the Regal 500.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUILT LIKE A TANK & CONSISTENT FULL RANGE TEMP I needed a 2nd smoker and decided to try the Broil King Pellet XL. I recently purchased another brand and wasn't satisfied with the overall performance so I decided to try the BK pellet and it's been fantastic! I love how quick it heats up, the consistency of temp, the cast iron cooking grates. I also want to give a huge shout out to the firepot ash release which allows me to start each session with a clean firepot without having to take the whole thing appart. I am really really impressed with the easy to use/read display AND YOU CAN PROPERLY SEAR & COOK STEAK!!!! This is something I have not been able to do with any Pellet unit in the past. Hats off to you Broil King for this quality product. So glad I was able to find a unit that does everything I want and I am able to support a local business at the same time!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective parts replaced - it still failed. This grill is the worst item I have bought in a very long time and a major waste of time and money. The auger has jammed multiple times. I live in Toronto and there isn’t a single dealer within an hour drive who stocks Broil King Pellets which they recommend. I spent a few hours taking it apart to un-jam the auger and replace a defective controller and I only bought the Grill Dec. 26. I have also ruined over $100 worth of meat. The construction is good and will easily fool you into thinking it is quality but the quality stops at the double lined lid and cast grills - the main functional components is where it fails. If you switch from grill to smoke, the auger slows down but the pellets in the auger start to burn and it jams up. The end of the auger is too close to the burn box. This is a fatal design flaw.
