Taking care of your grill cover

You can extend the life of your grill cover even longer by taking care of it properly. Follow these simple ownership tips. 

1. A grill cover shouldn’t extend all the way to the ground. Leave some space to allow the grill to breathe, preventing the material from becoming moldy and rotten.
2. Don’t leave the cover on all the time. It does a great job at keeping moisture out, but it can keep a morning dew in just as easily. If you keep the cover on all the time, you could be encouraging molds to grow on the sugars that are often left on your grill after a BBQ. If you need to store your grill for longer than a couple of days, clean it thoroughly and oil the cooking components before covering your (dry) grill.
3. Right-size that grill cover! Too big covers dangle on the ground and too small covers will rub against the grill and eventually tear.
4. Don’t ball a cover up and stick it under your grill! Instead use the hanging loop and hang it somewhere it can stay high and dry. There’s no need to encourage a furry animal to turn it into a cozy nest.
