NEW! ‘Think BBQ, Think Alaska Seafood’ is the latest must-have cookbook for seafood and BBQ lovers
When was the last time you grilled some seafood on the barbie? If it’s been a while – or if you never have – now is the time to give it a try! And we can show you exactly how to get started.
We’re thrilled to announce that our Broil King team in the UK collaborated with Alaska Seafood to create a new seafood specific BBQ recipe book, working with three well-known chefs, to inspire the next wave of alfresco cooking.
Alyn Williams, Rachel Green and Adam Reid have filled the cookbook with mouth-watering recipes using wild-caught Alaska salmon, pollock, black cod and king crab fired on the grill.

Why Alaska Seafood
Alaska Seafood is wild, natural and sustainable. Home to some of the world’s most sought-after seafood including salmon, pollock, black cod, king crab, halibut and roe, the Alaska seafood portfolio is impressive.
For the more eco-conscious diners, origin and sustainability matters. And fortunately, Alaska has a compelling story to tell. Sustainability not only applies to the seafood but the people of Alaska, the communities and the economy. Seafood is Alaska’s most valuable renewable natural resource and for this to be the case in many years to come, it needs to be protected from overfishing. Fishing practices are carefully managed with the work of biologists and catch quotas to ensure the preservation of fish stocks, so in terms of ticking the sustainability box, it’s safe to say that Alaska does.
Added benefits:
Alaska seafood is also prized for its nutrition, being high in healthy omega-3 oils, vitamins and minerals.
- Protein
- Omega-3 essential fatty acids EPA and DHA
- Vitamins E, D, A and B-12
- Minerals: zinc, calcium, selenium, and iron
Studies have shown that eating fish, such as wild-caught Alaska salmon, can have incredible health benefits, including:
- Brain Health – Omega-3 protects brain cells and improves memory and cognition
- Glowing Skin – Moisturize skin from the inside, out and improve elasticity and tone
- Strong Bones – Supports nutrient absorption for strong, healthy bones
- Comfortable Joints – Fatty acids reduce inflammation and arthritis
- Prenatal Care – Supports brain and eye development in babies
- Gut Health – Eases digestion and chronic digestive disorders
- Immune Support – Vitamin E boosts immune function and protects against infection
- Heart Health – Improves cardiovascular health and reduces the risk of heart disease
Where To Buy Alaska seafood
Alaska is home to five kinds of wild salmon (king, sockeye, coho, keta and pink), Alaska pollock, black cod, roe and king crab. Salmon and pollock can be bought from most major retailers (in-store and online) as refreshed or frozen fillets. Waitrose often sells sides of sockeye salmon at Christmas which is perfect for a centrepiece. Ideal for special occasions, black cod and roe can be sourced from the luxury online retailer The Fish Society.
But it’s worth taking a look at the fish counter next time you go shopping or comparing the different fillets available in the chilled aisle. Wild salmon from Alaska is slightly more expensive than salmon from other origins, but for quality, colour, texture and taste it’s worth spending a little more.
